Here are my opinions on the Top 8 performances:
- Paul McDonald - "Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Seger - I didn't like it. The raspy quality of his voice seemed quite empty to me this week. Everyone else liked it though. Perhaps my migraine couldn't handle it this week.
- Lauren Alaina - "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus - This is the only Miley song I like, but this wasn't one of Lauren's best performances. It was better than the original though. She adapted the song to suit her voice.
- Stefano Langone - "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men - I agree with Randy Jackson. This was definitely Stefano's best performance. He sang his little heart out to prove he deserves to stay.
- Scotty McCreery - "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait - He literally can sing the phone book and still do it well.
- Casey Abrams - "Nature Boy" by Nat King Cole - I was REALLY nervous about his song choice. However, I ended up loving everything about his performance. This was one of the riskiest moves of the season.
- Haley Reinhart - "Call Me" by Blondie - This is week three of Haley slightly impressing me. What is going on here? She started off annoying me and now she is one of the better entertainers. She seems to have the most fun compared to the others.
- Jacob Lusk - "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel - Yawn.
- James Durbin - "Heavy Metal" by Sammy Hagar - Wasn't my favorite, but it woke me up.
