One of the great qualities about Ulsan is its proximity to the sea. Thankfully, it is just a hop, skip, and a jump away (actually a long bus ride) to the beaches on the other side of the city. Well, my friends and I went to the coast last weekend to visit Ulsan's famous Ganjeolgot Lighthouse.
Although I know it to be false, Ulsanites claim this spot is where the sun first rises on New Year's Day. Nonetheless, the lighthouse is nice and the view is theoretically beautiful. I say 'theoretically' because it was slightly foggy when we went. The area is still very popular all year and the breeze is phenomenal.
We finally made it back to downtown after walking along the cost and waiting forever for a bus. Once there, we decided to enjoy some Italian food at a trendy little Italian restaurant near Lotte and Hyundai department stores. Most Koreans miserably fail at reproducing Italian food, but occasionally you'll be pleasantly surprised. This place is one of those rare charms.
After, there is no better way to end a night out in Korean than enjoying some fruity soju cocktails. (Random fact: Did you know some soju is made from sweet potatoes? Now you do.)

| Lots and lots of rocks. This is why there is a lighthouse here. |
