Last Day of Regular Classes.

Today marks my final day of teaching regular classes at Eonyang Middle School. The past week was full of one thing: tongue twisters. I was surprised that the students love them so much. Although I still have 27 days (and two weeks of summer school) before leaving Korea, today is still quite emotional. The students are all incredibly sad about my impending departure. The other teachers and principal are even upset about it. The word that best describes the situation for me: bittersweet. I am exuberantly excited about going home, but am equally sad about leaving  my amazing friends and this beautiful country. They can keep the extreme humidity though.

Today, the principal took my co-teachers, the head teacher, and myself out for lunch at a traditional Korean restaurant. The meal wasn't much different from those elsewhere. My principal told me that I'm the best foreign teacher he's ever worked with or met. Also, he complimented my willingness to mingle with other teachers and try speaking Korean. I was very touched by the compliments for sure. Coincidentally, the principal and some of my co-teachers will be leaving the school next year. Bigger and better fish to fry (retirements and some are simply relocating).

The best part about today: I got to watch the final Harry Potter movie!!

One of my 23 different classes. :)

Two of my best students. They're really talkative though.

Teaching some simple tongue twisters.
