Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to America, my grandmother, and both of my uncles (even though one uncle's birthday was yesterday)!!

We had extended hours at the museum today, so I unexpectedly ended up working until 7PM. As I was getting ready to leave at 5, I noticed the lobby was packed with visitors. Our ticket sales staff was a little overwhelmed since it was much busier than expected due to 4th of July festivities going on in Fair Park. Many visitors had lots of questions and it was clear I needed to stay. However, I enjoyed getting to step into but a direct guest services role for a bit. Since I spend most of my time working with volunteers, there isn't as much opportunity to directly engage with visitors anymore. It was nice to get back to my roots.

If my popular grandmother ever gets off the phone, I'll be able to successfully call her and wish her a happy birthday. :)
