Well, the cats and dogs are definitely fighting over the Korean peninsula right now. Koreans are well adjusted to their annual rainy season, but this year has been one for the record books. Every record has been smashed, battered, and shattered. Today alone, parts of Korea received 75% of what they typically get during the entire summer rainy season. A few weeks ago, my co-teacher told me the country already received its average annual rainfall. We weren't even six full months through the year at that point. Now, the country is experiencing devastating flooding and deadly landslides. I'm thankful the geographic location of Eonyang (eastern foot of the Yeongnam Alps) actually seems to be sheltering me from the worst conditions.
Some strange weather -- Most of America recently shattered their all time high temperature records (something like 220+ records set in cities across the country). During this past winter, Korea had its heaviest snowfall in the country's recorded history. Now all this rain...

The night before last, we set a record for the highest overnight low ever recorded in Wichita Falls (88 degrees). The record had been 87 degrees since 1952. This is the hottest summer on record.
