Wisdom Teeth.

I'm getting my three wisdom teeth removed today. Slight pain and pressure lately. Figured it was time to follow my dentist's advice. Thankfully, genetics blessed me with only three. Unfortunately, genetics didn't bless me with a large enough mouth to let them all grow in naturally.

Wish me luck!

Holiday Decorations.

For those of you who decorate for any winter holidays, how long do you tend to keep them up? The wife and I still have our festive Christmas decorations hanging around the house. We spent so much time putting everything perfectly in place. The lights add a warm glow to the house.

Part of me is saying, "I'm not ready to give them up. Please, just one more day!" The other part knows it is time for embrace the new year.

DFTBA.

2015.

The year 2015 is here. Time to refresh the blog for real this time. Last year, I made that promise, but did not follow through. This year, I plan to gain new experience and certifications in human resources, interpretation, social media, accessibility, and information technology.

I'm not big on making resolutions, but here we go:

  • Continue healthy eating and achieving a healthy weight.
  • Enjoy and appreciate life, marriage, family, friends, and the adventure ahead.
  • Accomplish at least one lifelong goal.
  • Dream big.
  • Don't forget to be awesome.
Happy New Year!

26.

Hello, blogosphere! Today marks the beginning of my 26th year on this planet. In other words, it is my birthday! The past year proved to be quite remarkable in many ways. I'm always amazed that each year seems to be better than the last. There's always something to look forward to. On this birthday, I'd like to thank my wife, mom, oldest brother, grandparents, friends, and team at work for keeping my smiling and sane day after day.

Hmm... do I smell pineapple upside down cake in my near future?

Life Update: December 2013

Hello, world! It's been a while again. Between the wedding, honeymoon, and going back to work, the past month has a been a whirlwind. Perhaps I can do a blog post about the wedding and honeymoon in the next few days...

For now, let me update you on a couple things going on in life. As of yesterday, my beautiful wife and I have been married for exactly one month. We finally finished all of our thank you cards and will be putting those in the mail tomorrow. It took much longer than planned, but that doesn't make us any less thankful! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving together with Lynn's family. We hosted them at the house. My 12 year old nephew and I spent the day together and cooked for everyone.

Lynn and I have slowly been furnishing and decorating the house. We put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving. Red and silver with a sprinkling of Disney, Hello Kitty, and polar bears is our theme.

One other piece of good news: I was sworn is as a member of the City of Irving's Museum Advisory Board (http://www.cityofirving.org/city-secretary/agendas-minutes/museum-advisory-board.asp). This is a momentous event in my life because it is my first civic appointment. We even got a fancy, official name badge. We've got a lot of projects to work. You can see a list here: http://cityofirving.org/museums/index.asp

My Wedding is ONE Month Away!

Guess what! My wedding is in exactly one month! Can you believe it? It seems like just yesterday that Lynn and I started dating. If fact, it has been over seven years. I proposed to her almost fourteen months ago. Time has flown by so quickly... In exactly one month, Lynn and I will say our vows and become husband and wife. So much to look forward to. We're excited that our wedding day will give so many family members and friends the opportunity to come together too.

In other news, we finalized and booked our honeymoon plans! We're going to DISNEY WORLD! (... and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios!) I'm sorry for all of the exclamations, but am truly that excited. This will be our first trip together. It will definitely be a fun week of adventure. We'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share here.

October is here!

I apologize for my lengthy absence on my blog. The past few months have been incredibly busy. My responsibilities at work have increased and wedding planning was moving along quite well. There's still much to finish too. October 2013 will likely be a VERY busy month.

RSVPs, table numbers, table assignments, escort cards, wedding favors, thank you cards...

Good news though! I plan to start blogging more regularly again. Stay tuned for more happenings!

LifeWalk 2013!

One of my good friends and coworkers organized a team for the 2013 LifeWalk, the annual Dallas AIDS walk. It didn't take long to convince me to join and support the cause. Our team's name is Team Perot Museum! My goal is to raise $100 by October 6.
