Did you know that the polar bear was the official mascot of the 1988 Winter Olympics (my birth year!)? Also, is it sad that I want to get a degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks just because their mascot is a polar bear?
Quick facts about polar bears:
- Their scientific name is Ursus maritimus.
- It is believed that polar bears are left pawed.
- Polar bears can swim up to 100 miles at a time.
- Humans are polar bears' only predator.
Want to help these amazing predators of the north? Symbolically adopt one by donating to the World Wildlife Fund.
HAPPY POLAR BEAR DAY!!
