Happy Polar Bear Day!!

If you're a family member or one of my friends, you should know that my favorite animal is the polar bear. These big, white bears are such magnificent creatures that I've grown very passionate about throughout my life. Ever since I was a child, I've been completely obsessed with them.

Did you know that the polar bear was the official mascot of the 1988 Winter Olympics (my birth year!)? Also, is it sad that I want to get a degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks just because their mascot is a polar bear?

Quick facts about polar bears:

• Their scientific name is Ursus maritimus.
• It is believed that polar bears are left pawed.
• Polar bears can swim up to 100 miles at a time.
• Humans are polar bears' only predator.
