Outlet Shopping in Gimhae.

(Part 3 of my 3 day Memorial Day weekend)

Just west of Busan is the city of Gimhae. With a little online research, you'll see that Gimhae International Airport is located here (the largest airport on this end of South Korea). Also, you'll discover the Lotte Premium Outlets. If you're an American and are feeling homesick, I highly recommend a visit here. You're likely to be the only westerner here (unless you go with friends), but many of the stores are American. The design and atmosphere of the outlets is also very American.

On Monday, we headed to Busan, took the subway almost to the end of the line (line 1, Hadan, exit 5), rode a bus (#220/221) for over an hour, and finally got there. I didn't buy anything during this trip, but the experience was worth it. We had food court hot dogs for lunch. Two pieces of advice: Korea doesn't know what a chili dog is and don't order a Viking dog...

A trip down south wouldn't be complete with a stop at Costco in Busan. I managed to leave without spending a fortune. My only purchase: a huge bag of frozen California strawberries! So delicious!
